Handbags - which one is right for you?

There are dozens of different kinds of handbags. You can find the perfect handbag for any occasion, or for any outfit. Primary categories include clutch, satchel, duffel, tote and briefcase type.
Handbags can be made out of any fabric, natural or synthetic, and they can also be made out of many different kinds of leather, including crocodile and ostrich skin.
Primary types of handbags
The clutch bag is a woman’s small bag that is usually carried by hand. It is commonly rectangular in shape and may be flat or with a rounded bottom. Some clutches have a separator in the middle but most do not, especially the flat ones. Due to their limitation of space these handbags are only capable of containing a few things like money and some cards or keys.
A satchel is a medium sized bag that usually has one strap. The strap goes over one shoulder of the wearer and across the body for convenient carrying. If it has two straps it is still carried the same way, with the two straps over a solder and across the body. Satchels are very popular handbags with the school crowds and are usually utilized for books and other school things.
A duffel bag is a large bag, usually made of fabric. It is called a “holdall” in the United Kingdom and may sometimes be spelled duffle instead of duffel. These kinds of handbags are used mostly to carry sports related clothes or shoes or both. Soldiers also use duffel bags to carry their belongings.
The tote is a type of bag that usually has two short straps for shoulder carrying or hand carrying. It is a medium sized to large sized bag that is used to carry all kinds of personal items. Some of the bigger sized totes are used as beach bags to accommodate the necessary items to be brought to the beach.
Briefcases or portfolio bags are handbags that are made to contain documents and other pertinent papers that sometimes must not be folded or even wrinkled. There are plenty of variations to a briefcase or portfolio. Most of the briefcases are unisex and have locking features for security.
Designers create dozens of variations of the five different kinds of handbags. Some are made smaller or roomier or even bigger to accommodate the needs of the people. There are now numerous materials used for the bags including leather, canvass, plastic and much, much more. Colors are also included in the variations since handbags are also a fashion accessory.
Well-made designer bags keep their value. If you get bored with your new Coach bag, you can sell it at a great price. Some handbags become collectors’ items, with their value increasing year by year.
